What is NHS Pharmacy First?

The NHS Pharmacy First service enables our pharmacist to assess and treat patients with seven common conditions — without you needing to see a GP first. You can receive prescription-only medicine if needed, helping to free up GP appointments.

Conditions We Can Treat

Under NHS Pharmacy First, our pharmacist can clinically assess and treat the following conditions:

Earache

For patients aged 1–17 years.

Impetigo

For patients aged 1 year and over.

Infected Insect Bites

For patients aged 1 year and over.

Shingles

For patients aged 18 years and over.

Sinusitis

For patients aged 12 years and over.

Sore Throat

For patients aged 5 years and over.

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

For women aged 16–64 years.

How to Access the Service

Contact Us

Call or email our pharmacy. You can also be referred to us directly by NHS 111 or your GP.

Consultation

Our pharmacist will conduct a clinical consultation — this may be in person, by telephone, or via video.

Treatment

If appropriate, our pharmacist can prescribe and dispense treatment. Medication can be delivered to you free of charge.
